The Epomaker Galaxy65 is a compact mechanical keyboard that manages to balance enthusiast-grade features with accessible pricing. Designed as a follow-up to the Galaxy80 and Galaxy70, this 65% layout board is Epomaker’s most polished release in the Galaxy series yet.

Design & Build Quality
Right out of the box, the Galaxy65 impresses with a CNC-machined aluminum chassis that feels substantial and well-constructed. The anodized finish on our silver unit is clean and blemish-free, and the overall design language is minimalistic yet premium. A prominent aluminum rotary knob sits on the top right, offering tactile volume control.

One standout feature is the ball-catch gasket mount system, which eliminates the need for screws during assembly. This tool-less design makes disassembly quick and convenient for users who like to mod or clean their boards. Despite the unique system, the case feels solid and tightly assembled.
The board weighs approximately 1.1kg, giving it a sturdy presence on the desk without feeling cumbersome.
Layout and Connectivity
The Galaxy65 adopts a traditional 65% layout, which omits the function row and numpad but retains the arrow keys—making it ideal for both productivity and gaming. Connectivity is versatile, with tri-mode support: USB-C wired, 2.4GHz wireless via the included dongle, and Bluetooth 5.0 with support for up to three paired devices. The Mac/Windows switch on the rear ensures broad OS compatibility.

We had no issues with wireless connectivity during testing. Typing latency was minimal over both Bluetooth and 2.4GHz, and reconnection was nearly instant when switching between devices.
Typing Experience
Our unit came equipped with KTT Blueberry Ice Cream linear switches, which are factory-lubed and deliver a smooth, quiet keystroke. The 40g actuation and 45g bottom-out force make them ideal for extended typing sessions or fast-paced gaming.
Internally, the board uses a gasket-mounted structure combined with six layers of sound-dampening foam, including IXPE switch pads, PE film, and PCB foam. The result is a deeper and more refined acoustic profile. The board produces a pleasant “thock” sound with minimal ping or rattle—particularly impressive given its sub-$110 price point.
Stabilizers come pre-lubed and are decently tuned out of the box, with no noticeable wobble or rattling on longer keys.
Keycaps & RGB
The keycaps are a significant upgrade over previous Galaxy models. They are PBT Cherry profile with dye-sublimated legends, offering a durable and textured typing surface. However, the lack of shine-through legends means the RGB backlighting—though bright and vibrant—is more aesthetic than functional in dim environments.
That said, the south-facing per-key RGB delivers rich, customizable lighting effects. Lighting modes are adjustable via shortcuts or fully programmable through VIA.

Software and Customization
VIA compatibility is a major highlight here. The Galaxy65 supports full remapping, macro recording, and RGB customization—all within a clean, browser-based interface. This level of flexibility is rarely found in keyboards in this price range, giving users full control over layout and behavior.
Battery Life
The Galaxy65 is powered by a 4000mAh battery, rated for up to 200 hours of use with RGB off. During testing, it comfortably lasted over a week of regular use without recharging, even with occasional lighting enabled.

Final Verdict
At a price point of $109.99, the Epomaker Galaxy65 offers outstanding value. It combines enthusiast-level build quality, a satisfying typing experience, and deep customization—while omitting unnecessary gimmicks. The ball-catch gasket mount is a practical innovation, and the inclusion of VIA support rounds out an already strong package.
Whether you’re a seasoned keyboard enthusiast or someone looking to step up from a basic prebuilt, the Galaxy65 is well worth considering.
