EarFun Clip

The EarFun Clip is an impressive offering for its price point. While it won’t replace high-end ANC earbuds or satisfy audiophiles looking for deep sub-bass, it excels at what it’s meant for — delivering a comfortable, open-ear experience with modern features at a budget-friendly price.

THE GOOD
  • Lightweight, comfortable clip-on design
  • Secure fit ideal for workouts
  • LDAC and Hi-Res Audio support
  • Great app customization
  • Decent battery life
  • Bluetooth 6.0 and multipoint support
THE BAD
  • May not fit larger ears well
  • No wireless charging
  • Average call performance in noisy environments
  • Treble can lack sparkle at higher volumes

In the ever-growing world of open-ear wireless audio, the EarFun Clip aims to carve a space for itself as a budget-friendly, feature-rich option. These clip-on earbuds promise a secure fit, Hi-Res Audio certification, LDAC support, and Bluetooth 6.0 — all for under $70. We spent time testing them across various environments to see whether they deliver on performance, comfort, and everyday usability.

Design & First Impressions

Right out of the box, the EarFun Clip impresses with its build quality and aesthetic. The case has a matte gunmetal gray finish, accented by a subtle EarFun logo and a single LED battery indicator. The earbuds themselves follow a two-part design: a rounded bean-shaped speaker unit and an oblong body that houses the controls and microphones, all connected by a flexible silicone hinge.

They feel light in the hand and look modern, with thoughtful touches like a red ring on the right earbud to quickly identify orientation. Button controls replace touch-sensitive inputs, which is a smart move for this form factor — touch controls on open-ear styles tend to misfire easily. The buttons are tactile, responsive, and allow for full control without reaching for your phone.

Fit & Comfort

The EarFun Clip is designed to rest on the outside of the ear, using a double ‘C’ ergonomic hook system that grips securely without pressing into the ear canal. At just 0.2 oz per earbud, they feel nearly weightless, allowing for extended use without fatigue — for most users, at least.

In our testing, the fit remained secure during workouts, cycling, and even bumpy commutes. However, users with larger ears may find the speakers sit slightly too far from the ear canal, affecting sound clarity and volume. While the open design is great for maintaining environmental awareness, it does require a correct fit to deliver optimal audio performance.

Audio Performance

Sound-wise, the EarFun Clip performs decently for an open-ear design. Powered by custom 10.8mm carbon fiber drivers, the earbuds deliver a clean and balanced signature. Bass presence is modest out of the box but improves noticeably when switching to the app’s “SearchBass” mode. The midrange remains clear, and vocals are natural and forward, though treble performance can feel a bit flat at higher volumes.

The standout feature is LDAC support, enabling higher-resolution wireless playback for Android users. While you won’t get the deep sub-bass of in-ear models, the Clip holds its own when it comes to clarity and stereo separation, especially in Theater Mode, which widens the soundstage for a more immersive experience.

App Features & Customization

The EarFun Audio app is surprisingly robust for a budget product. Upon pairing, users can view battery percentages, toggle game mode, and switch between different sound profiles such as Theater, SearchBass, and Privacy Mode. You also get access to 22 EQ presets and a 10-band custom equalizer.

The app allows users to fully remap button controls, manage dual-device connections, set auto-shutdown timers, and even limit max volume for hearing protection. Firmware updates and a “Find My Earbuds” feature are also included. It’s one of the more comprehensive companion apps we’ve seen at this price point.

Call Quality & Gaming Latency

Call performance is handled by a dual-mic system with AI noise reduction. In quiet environments, voice pickup is clear and detailed. In noisier settings, background sound isn’t entirely canceled out but remains at a manageable level. For everyday use, the call quality is acceptable — though not as refined as pricier models with additional microphones.

With gaming mode enabled, latency is noticeably reduced and makes titles like PUBG more enjoyable. While it’s not completely lag-free, the delay is minimal and suitable for casual gaming and video streaming.

Battery Life & Charging

Battery life is a strong point for the EarFun Clip. The earbuds offer up to 10 hours of continuous playback, with the charging case providing an additional 30 hours — bringing the total to 40 hours. There’s also a quick charge feature: 10 minutes in the case gives you roughly 2.5 hours of playback.

Charging is handled via USB-C. However, there is no support for wireless charging, which might be a minor drawback for some users.

Durability & Water Resistance

Thanks to its IP55 rating, the EarFun Clip is resistant to both dust and water, making it a great option for workouts, light rain, and general outdoor use. Combined with its lightweight and breathable design, it’s particularly well-suited for runners, cyclists, and commuters who need to stay aware of their surroundings.

Verdict

The EarFun Clip is an impressive offering for its price point. While it won’t replace high-end ANC earbuds or satisfy audiophiles looking for deep sub-bass, it excels at what it’s meant for — delivering a comfortable, open-ear experience with modern features at a budget-friendly price.

The audio quality is respectable for this form factor, the app support is excellent, and the secure fit makes them a solid option for active users. If you’re in the market for lightweight, open-ear clip-style earbuds that won’t break the bank, the EarFun Clip deserves your consideration.
