The Lenovo Idea Tab Pro is positioned as a mid-range alternative to premium Android tablets, and it offers a surprisingly strong value proposition. With its large 12.7-inch display, fast MediaTek Dimensity 8300 processor, and stylus support included in the box, this tablet manages to bring premium-like features to a much lower price point. We spent time using the device for work, entertainment, and light creativity, and here’s how it performed.

Design & Build
The Idea Tab Pro keeps things simple with a slim metal build just under 7 mm thick. It weighs 620 g, which is light for its size but still noticeable during extended use. The design follows Lenovo’s familiar minimalist style, with a matte back panel, rectangular camera module, and subtle diagonal accent strip at the top.

In terms of practicality, Lenovo included a good selection of features. The tablet has a USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 port that supports display output, a fingerprint scanner integrated into the power button, and even microSD card expansion. On the bottom, there’s a connector for attaching an optional keyboard, though it’s sold separately. The only omission is cellular connectivity—Wi-Fi only, no SIM slot.

Display & Audio
The 12.7-inch LTPS LCD panel is one of the highlights of the Idea Tab Pro. It offers a 3K resolution (2944 x 1840), a smooth 144 Hz refresh rate, and full DCI-P3 color coverage. Colors are vibrant, viewing angles are solid, and animations feel fluid. Brightness is capped at around 400 nits, which is fine indoors but can struggle under strong sunlight. HDR support is also limited compared to higher-end tablets.

Audio comes through a quad-speaker setup with Dolby Atmos support. While it lacks the deeper bass of Lenovo’s Yoga series, the sound is still loud and clear enough for videos, games, and casual music listening.
Performance
Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8300 processor with up to 12GB of RAM and 256 GB of UFS 4.0 storage, the Idea Tab Pro delivers excellent performance for its class. Multitasking is smooth, apps open quickly, and games like Asphalt and Call of Duty Mobile run well at high settings. More demanding titles such as Genshin Impact may need some tweaks for consistent frame rates, but overall, gaming performance is impressive at this price.

Productivity features such as Lenovo’s PC Mode, split-screen multitasking, and floating windows make good use of the larger screen, helping the tablet double as a lightweight productivity tool.
Stylus Experience
Lenovo includes the Tab Pen Plus in the box, which supports over 4,000 pressure levels, tilt detection, and Bluetooth shortcuts. It attaches magnetically to the tablet for storage, though charging requires a USB-C cable.

For note-taking and casual sketching, the pen works well. However, digital artists may find it less precise compared to Samsung’s S Pen or Apple Pencil. Line jitter and slight input lag are noticeable when doing detailed drawing, which may be a drawback for professional art use. That said, for students and general users, it’s a very welcome inclusion at this price.
Software & Updates
The Idea Tab Pro ships with Android 14 and Lenovo’s clean interface. Useful additions include Google Kids Space, an entertainment hub, and productivity tools like desktop-style PC Mode. Lenovo promises major updates up to Android 17 and security patches until 2028. While this is better than many mid-range competitors, it still falls short of Samsung’s seven years of updates.

Cameras
Cameras on tablets are rarely a selling point, and that holds true here. The 13 MP rear camera and 8 MP front camera deliver average results suitable for video calls, scanning documents, or quick snaps. They get the job done but won’t replace your smartphone.
Battery Life
The 10,200 mAh battery offers solid endurance. We consistently achieved 10–12 hours of mixed use, including web browsing, streaming, and productivity tasks. Charging is handled by the included 45W charger, which takes about two hours to fully recharge the tablet.

Pricing & Value
At launch, the Lenovo Idea Tab Pro retailed for around $359, which is significantly cheaper than Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S10 FE+—a direct competitor with a similar screen size that costs nearly double. Lenovo’s tablet even outperforms Samsung’s FE series in some areas, such as refresh rate and processor speed, making it one of the best-value large Android tablets available today.
Verdict
The Lenovo Idea Tab Pro delivers an impressive balance of performance, features, and affordability. Its strengths lie in the large, sharp 144 Hz display, smooth performance, and included stylus—all at a price far below premium competitors. Downsides include limited brightness outdoors, average cameras, and shorter software support compared to Samsung.
For users who want a large-screen Android tablet for entertainment, productivity, and light creative work without overspending, the Idea Tab Pro stands out as one of the best mid-range options this year.
