Sharge IceMag 2 Review

The Sharge IceMag 2 is one of the most feature-rich magnetic power banks currently available. It balances convenience and practicality, offering faster wireless charging, a stronger wired output, and a unique design with active cooling to address heat concerns.

THE GOOD
  • Compact and portable with a premium design
  • Qi2-certified 15W magnetic wireless charging
  • 30W USB-C input/output with fast recharging
  • Active cooling reduces overheating issues
  • Built-in kickstand for hands-free use
  • Pass-through and low-current charging support
THE BAD
  • RGB lighting cannot be disabled
  • Fan produces noticeable noise in quiet settings

The Sharge IceMag 2 is a compact, pocket-sized magnetic power bank designed for modern smartphones. With support for Qi2 15W wireless charging, 30W USB-C wired charging, active cooling, and a built-in kickstand, it combines convenience with thoughtful design.

Design & Build

The IceMag 2 immediately stands out with its transparent housing and RGB lighting, giving it a futuristic, almost mini gaming-PC look. At just 220g, it feels solid in hand without being too heavy for daily carry. A 10,000 mAh battery is packed inside, enough to provide roughly one and a half charges for most flagship phones.

A highlight is the built-in kickstand, which props up a phone vertically or horizontally while charging. This proved especially useful during flights, where we could watch content comfortably while keeping the phone powered.

On the rear, a smooth magnetic ring ensures compatibility with MagSafe cases. While it can still attach to non-MagSafe cases, alignment and security are less reliable. The aluminum plate at the bottom aids with heat dissipation, complemented by the internal cooling fan.

Features & Performance

Compared to its predecessor, the IceMag 2 doubles wireless charging speeds—now offering 15W Qi2 compared to the original’s 7.5W. Wired performance also improves, with the USB-C port delivering up to 30W for both input and output. This allows for faster recharging of the power bank itself and efficient charging of phones, tablets, or accessories.

The active cooling system is one of its standout features. The small fan helps reduce heat during charging, addressing a common issue with magnetic power banks. While the fan is effective, it does emit a faint, high-pitched noise that may be noticeable in quiet environments.

The RGB lighting adds a unique aesthetic but cannot be disabled, which some users may find distracting. Pass-through charging is supported, though the sequence of connections matters—wireless charging must be activated before plugging in the bank for simultaneous charging.

In terms of real-world performance, the IceMag 2 charged an iPhone 15 Pro Max from 65% in just over an hour via wired connection, and around 1 hour 37 minutes wirelessly. As expected, wired charging remains faster and more efficient, but the magnetic wireless option offers unmatched convenience.

Usability

Low-current mode is included for accessories such as earbuds and smartwatches. This can be activated by holding the power button for three seconds, after which the indicator lights begin flashing in sequence.

Magnet strength is solid with MagSafe-compatible cases, though we found occasional misalignment with thicker third-party cases. The power bank is airline safe, making it a practical travel companion.

Verdict

The Sharge IceMag 2 is one of the most feature-rich magnetic power banks currently available. It balances convenience and practicality, offering faster wireless charging, a stronger wired output, and a unique design with active cooling to address heat concerns.

While the RGB lighting and audible fan may not suit everyone, the IceMag 2’s performance and versatility make it a strong recommendation for iPhone and MagSafe users, as well as Android owners with compatible cases.

At around $70, it isn’t the cheapest option, but its blend of design, cooling, and dual charging capabilities make it one of the most compelling portable chargers in its category.
