The Lenovo LOQ series has built a reputation for offering strong value in the entry-level gaming laptop segment. For 2025, Lenovo refreshes the lineup with the LOQ 15IRX10, bringing Nvidia’s latest RTX 50 series GPUs to a budget-friendly package. Starting at around $1,180, the LOQ 15IRX10 promises solid gaming performance without a premium price tag.
Design & Build Quality
The LOQ 15IRX10 carries forward the same design language we’ve seen since the 2023 launch. The chassis is made of polycarbonate, inspired by Lenovo’s IdeaPad Gaming series, with durability in mind rather than aesthetics. At 2.44 kg and 0.94 inches thick, it isn’t the most portable gaming laptop, but it feels sturdy with minimal flex, except for a bit on the lid.

The keyboard remains a highlight. Lenovo continues its tradition of offering a comfortable layout, full-size keys, a numpad, and decent travel. Feedback is on the softer side, but the typing and gaming experience is overall satisfying. RGB lighting (up to 24-zone depending on configuration) adds some customization.

Display
The LOQ 15IRX10 features a 15.6-inch display with options for FHD (144Hz) or WQHD (165Hz), depending on configuration. The panel offers 100% sRGB coverage, making it decent for gaming and content work. Brightness peaks at around 300–330 nits, which is adequate indoors but less ideal in brightly lit environments.

While the panel doesn’t offer OLED-like contrast or HDR, it provides smooth motion and respectable color accuracy for its class. Competitive gamers will appreciate the high refresh rate paired with the RTX 50 series GPU.
Ports & Connectivity
Port selection is practical for a budget gaming device. You get:
- 3 × USB-A 3.2 Gen 1
- 1 × USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 (with DP 1.4 and up to 100W Power Delivery)
- 1 × HDMI 2.1
- 1 × RJ45 Ethernet
- 3.5mm audio combo jack
- Power input

Most ports are positioned on the back, which helps with cable management, while a few are on the right side. A physical webcam shutter is also included for privacy. Connectivity is handled via Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2.
Performance
Our test unit came with an Intel Core i7-14700HX (20 cores, 28 threads), 32GB DDR5 RAM, a 1TB Gen 4 SSD, and an RTX 5060 GPU (100W TGP, 8GB VRAM). These specs are impressive for the price, positioning the LOQ 15 firmly in the performance mid-range.

In synthetic benchmarks, the CPU and GPU deliver competitive results, handling demanding workloads such as video editing, rendering, and 3D modeling with ease. Gaming performance is strong at 1080p and 1440p, thanks to Nvidia’s new Blackwell architecture and support for DLSS 3.5 frame generation.
- Esports titles like Valorant and CS2 run at very high frame rates (well over 200 FPS at 1080p).
- AAA titles such as Cyberpunk 2077, Elden Ring, and Hogwarts Legacy are very playable at high or ultra settings with DLSS enabled, typically delivering 60–90 FPS at 1080p and 1440p.
- VRAM limits (8GB) mean some newer titles at ultra settings with heavy ray tracing may run into stuttering, but with DLSS or high settings, gameplay remains smooth.
Upgradability is a plus—RAM and storage can be expanded, with two M.2 slots available.
Cooling & Thermals
Lenovo uses its HyperChamber cooling system, with intake vents on the bottom and exhaust at the back. In stress tests, the CPU peaked around 97°C, averaging 85°C, while the GPU averaged 86°C under load. These are within expected limits for high-performance laptops. Surface temperatures stay comfortable, with only slight warmth around WASD during extended sessions.
Fan noise is noticeable under heavy load but remains tolerable, and quieter modes are available for lighter use.

Battery Life
Battery life is one of the weaker points. With a 60Wh battery, the LOQ 15IRX10 manages around 4 hours of light use (web browsing, office tasks). Gaming drains it much faster, making this more of a desktop replacement than a travel-friendly machine. Fortunately, the included 245W charger keeps performance consistent during extended play.

Verdict
The Lenovo LOQ 15IRX10 continues the series’ tradition of delivering excellent price-to-performance value. With Nvidia’s RTX 50 series GPUs, strong CPU options, and a well-balanced 144Hz/165Hz display, it’s one of the most compelling entry-level gaming laptops in 2025.
It doesn’t match the Lenovo Legion 5 in design, display quality, or battery life, but at this price point, it offers tremendous value for gamers and creators alike.
