Starlink UAE — plans, prices, hardware, and how to subscribe

Starlink UAE: Starlink officially launched ground-based service in the UAE on 18 March 2026. Residential plans start at AED 230 per month and the Standard Kit including shipping costs AED 1,545. The service is available across all seven emirates and UAE territorial waters.

SpaceX’s satellite internet service had already appeared in the UAE on Emirates and flydubai in-flight Wi-Fi during 2025, but 2026 marks the first time UAE residents and businesses can subscribe to a ground-based plan directly. The UAE is the latest country in the Middle East to allow the low-Earth-orbit internet service. Starlink is now available in more than 150 countries and territories worldwide.

Starlink operates independently as a satellite-based service. A du or Etisalat account is not required. Orders are placed directly through the Starlink website, and the service is more likely to function as a specialist add-on rather than a direct replacement for existing UAE telecoms contracts.

Starlink UAE plans and monthly prices

Starlink offers multiple plan tiers for UAE subscribers. All plans require a separate one-time hardware purchase.

Residential Lite — AED 230 per month Provides unlimited data with download speeds of 30 to 100 Mbps and upload speeds of 5 to 15 Mbps. Data is deprioritised during peak hours, which may result in slower speeds when network demand is high. Suited for light browsing, basic streaming, and households with lower data requirements.

Residential Standard — AED 300 per month The main residential plan, offering unlimited data with download speeds of 50 to 200 Mbps and upload speeds of 10 to 25 Mbps. Designed for streaming, remote work, and everyday household internet use. This is the recommended plan for most UAE homes and villas.

Business — from AED 248 per month Targeted at commercial operations, remote worksites, and businesses in areas with limited fibre access. Higher-priority data allocation compared to residential plans, with multiple tiers available depending on data volume requirements.

Roam — available for travellers and mobile users Designed for users who need connectivity while moving. Plans are available in limited and unlimited data configurations. Note that Starlink’s in-motion on land feature is currently not available in the UAE.

Plans can be paused and resumed based on usage, making them suitable for seasonal properties, construction sites, and temporary locations.

Starlink UAE hardware costs

Hardware is a one-time purchase and is not included in the monthly subscription fee.

Standard Kit — AED 1,545 including shipping The primary kit for home and small office installations. Includes a satellite dish, a Wi-Fi 6 router, cables, and a mounting base. Delivery is estimated at one to two weeks. Recommended for rooftop installation on villas and farm buildings where maximum performance and stability are required.

Mini Kit — AED 1,099 A compact, portable version designed for mobility. The dish is roughly the size of a thick laptop, with an integrated Wi-Fi router, lower power consumption, and a design that fits in a backpack. Download speeds are above 200 Mbps. Suited for overlanding, desert camping, fishing trips, and any use case where portability matters more than maximum throughput.

Starlink UAE speeds and performance

Starlink operates using a constellation of low-Earth orbit satellites at altitudes of 160km to 2,000km — significantly closer to Earth than traditional geostationary satellites, which orbit at 20,000km to 35,000km. This shorter distance reduces latency to 20 to 40 milliseconds, making the service viable for video calls, gaming, and real-time applications.

Typical UAE download speeds range from 50 to 200 Mbps depending on plan and network load. This is faster than traditional satellite internet but generally below the speeds available through Etisalat (e&) or du fibre packages in urban areas. The main advantage Starlink offers is availability without physical infrastructure — it can be deployed anywhere in the UAE with a clear view of the sky and a power source.

SpaceX has indicated that future network upgrades are planned to target gigabit speeds, without requiring hardware changes for existing subscribers.

What Starlink does not support in UAE

Two important restrictions apply to the UAE rollout. First, according to Starlink, the in-motion on land feature — which allows the dish to be used while in transport — is not available in the UAE. Second, Starlink operates under UAE regulations, meaning the same content filtering and restrictions that apply to Etisalat and du also apply to Starlink.

Who is Starlink best suited for in UAE

Starlink is not a direct replacement for urban fibre in most cases. In Dubai, Abu Dhabi, or any area with strong e& or du fibre coverage, existing ISPs will typically offer faster speeds, lower latency, and better value through bundled packages.

Where Starlink is most useful in the UAE is anywhere fibre and 5G coverage is limited or unreliable. The service is particularly compelling as a high-performance backup connectivity solution and as a practical way to connect remote or hard-to-reach locations where terrestrial infrastructure is limited.

That includes desert farms and agricultural properties, construction sites and remote worksites, properties in outer Al Ain, Fujairah, and the northern emirates, offshore vessels and yacht owners, overlanders and desert campers using the Mini Kit, and businesses requiring a reliable backup connection.

How to subscribe to Starlink UAE

Orders are placed directly through the Starlink website at starlink.com. Entering a UAE address confirms service availability and allows hardware purchase and plan selection. Delivery across all seven emirates is available, estimated at one to two weeks. Installation is self-managed using the Starlink mobile app, which guides users through dish placement, mounting, and Wi-Fi setup. Professional mounting assistance is available as an optional add-on.
