Score - 9 / 10

The SteelSeries Arctis Nova Elite combines audiophile-grade wireless sound, class-leading ANC, and unmatched connectivity options into one premium package.

Gadgets Middle East Editor's Choice

SteelSeries has set a new benchmark in the gaming audio space with the launch of the Arctis Nova Elite, the world’s first Hi-Res Wireless Certified gaming headset. Positioned as a new flagship, it doesn’t replace the Nova Pro Wireless but instead introduces a more premium “audiophile-grade” option for those who want the very best—at a steep price of $599 / £599 / €649.

With carbon fiber drivers, upgraded ANC, Hi-Res Wireless connectivity, and a versatile GameHub base station that supports simultaneous multi-device connections, the Nova Elite aims to be the ultimate all-in-one solution for gamers and audio enthusiasts alike.

Design & Comfort

From the moment we unboxed the Nova Elite, the build quality stood out. The all-metal frame, plush memory foam ear cups, and a soft suspension headband make it feel premium and comfortable for long sessions. The headset is sturdily built, with no flex or creaking, though we do have some concerns about the pleather wrapping on the ear cups wearing out over time. Thankfully, they are replaceable.

The adjustable suspension band and sliding headband ensure a secure fit for different head sizes. The ear cups rotate flat for desk placement but don’t fold for travel. Magnetic side plates conceal the hot-swappable battery system, with one battery in use and another charging in the base station. Each battery lasts up to 30 hours, and swapping takes only seconds without cutting audio.

Controls are well thought out. The gold-accented textured volume roller feels solid, while the retractable boom mic sits flush when hidden. SteelSeries even includes a leather travel pouch, which feels appropriate at this price point.

Connectivity & Features

The GameHub base station is the heart of the Nova Elite. It supports up to four simultaneous audio sources—PC, console, Bluetooth, and AUX—allowing seamless mixing. With three USB-C ports (one Xbox-ready), 3.5mm in/out, and wireless connections, the flexibility is unmatched.

The headset supports Hi-Res Wireless audio at 24-bit/96kHz over 2.4GHz, plus Bluetooth 5.3 with LC3+ codec and multipoint connectivity. That means it can handle gaming, music, calls, and multiple devices simultaneously.

For software, SteelSeries provides two options:

  • SteelSeries Sonar Suite (PC): Advanced features like an 11-band parametric EQ, spatial audio, AI-powered mic noise suppression, and hundreds of game-specific EQ presets.
  • Arctis Companion App (Mobile): Simpler but still powerful, offering on-the-fly EQ and microphone adjustments for consoles and Bluetooth use.

Unlike the Nova Pro Wireless, the Elite is universally compatible across PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, Mac, and mobile devices without requiring separate versions.

Performance & Sound

The Nova Elite uses 40mm carbon fiber drivers capable of reproducing frequencies from 10Hz to 40kHz. In practice, the sound is rich, detailed, and immersive. On PC, Hi-Res audio shines in both gaming and music playback, delivering precise positioning and excellent clarity.

Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) is another highlight. SteelSeries claims it to be the best in gaming, and our testing backs this up. The system reduces low-frequency hums (like fans and AC) by up to 30dB, and even higher-frequency distractions like conversations and keyboard clicks are noticeably muted.

The microphone performance is also excellent. The retractable boom mic produces clear, isolated voice capture, while built-in secondary mics allow casual calls when the boom is retracted. AI-powered noise rejection blocks up to 97% of background noise, making it suitable for both competitive gaming and home office use.

Battery Life

SteelSeries’ Infinite Power System continues to be a standout. Each of the two batteries lasts up to 30 hours, and swapping is seamless thanks to the GameHub’s charging dock. With fast charging, a quick 15-minute charge provides around 4 hours of playtime, eliminating battery anxiety altogether.

Price & Availability

The SteelSeries Arctis Nova Elite is available now worldwide at:

  • $599.99 (US)
  • £599.99 (UK)
  • €649.99 (EU)
  • $650 (APAC)

At this price, it enters direct competition not only with gaming headsets but also with premium wireless headphones from brands like Apple, Bose, and Bowers & Wilkins.

Verdict

The SteelSeries Arctis Nova Elite is arguably the most advanced gaming headset available today. It combines audiophile-grade wireless sound, class-leading ANC, and unmatched connectivity options into one premium package.

However, its $600 price tag makes it a niche choice. For most gamers, the Nova Pro Wireless—or even more affordable SteelSeries models—will deliver more than enough features and performance at half the price. If budget isn’t a concern and you want the absolute best wireless gaming audio available today, the Nova Elite delivers.
