The G84 Pro is Epomaker’s updated version of the well-regarded G84, a budget 75% mechanical keyboard that earned a following for its sound profile and accessible price. The Pro variant retains the core foundation while introducing several notable upgrades, most visibly a 2-inch TFT glass screen and a side-mounted rotary dial. The result is a keyboard that offers considerably more personality and functionality than its price bracket typically delivers.
Design and build quality
The G84 Pro uses an ABS plastic case, which is a step down from what a CNC aluminium chassis would offer at this tier. That said, the board weighs approximately 960g, giving it a planted, substantial feel on the desk that belies its plastic construction. No visible scuffs or structural weaknesses have been reported during extended use, and the overall fit and finish is consistent.

The modified 75% layout houses 81 keys, sitting between a standard 75% and a tenkeyless in terms of width. Two-stage adjustable rubber feet on the underside allow for tilt customisation. The USB-C port, OS toggle switch, and tri-mode connectivity switch are all positioned along the rear of the board. A dedicated storage slot for the wireless dongle is built into the underside, a practical touch for portability.
The TFT screen on the upper right of the board displays time, battery level, and user-uploaded GIFs or images with up to 70 frames. A plastic protective cover ships over the screen from the factory and should be removed before use for optimal clarity. One noted limitation is that the screen brightness is modest, which can make it harder to view in well-lit environments. The aluminium rotary knob sits to the right of the screen and controls both volume and RGB settings, and its knurled surface provides reliable grip.
Typing experience and sound
The G84 Pro ships with Epomaker Creamy Jade linear switches, factory lubricated with a 45g actuation force. The switches use a PC and PA66 housing with a premium POM stem, delivering smooth, consistent travel with no notable chatter or wobble. The actuation weight strikes a practical balance between responsiveness for gaming and enough resistance to prevent accidental keystrokes during typing.

The sound profile is a standout characteristic of the G84 Pro. The gasket mount structure, paired with a polycarbonate flex-cut plate and a five-layer dampening setup comprising silicone bottom damper, multiple foam layers, and a PET film, produces a deep, creamy typing sound that is notably impressive for a keyboard at this price. Among keyboards in its category, the G84 Pro ranks among the better-sounding options available out of the box.
Switches are hot-swappable via a south-facing universal PCB that accepts both three-pin and five-pin MX-compatible switches, giving users full flexibility to customise the feel without soldering.
Keycaps
The G84 Pro uses silicone double-shot Cherry profile keycaps, which are visually distinctive and produce excellent RGB diffusion. The soft texture is immediately noticeable and feels smooth under the fingers. However, some users have reported that the silicone surface can develop a slightly chalky feel during extended sessions, which may be a consideration for users sensitive to keycap texture. The Cherry profile is a practical choice for users accustomed to standard keycap geometry.

Connectivity and battery
The G84 Pro supports tri-mode connectivity: USB-C wired, 2.4GHz wireless via dongle, and Bluetooth 5.0. The 8,000mAh battery delivers approximately 48 hours of use with both RGB and the screen active, and up to 200 hours with both disabled. Screen customisation via software requires a wired connection, though all other software functions including key remapping and RGB adjustments are accessible wirelessly.

Software
Configuration is handled through a web-based software platform accessible via any browser. The software covers key binding customisation across normal and function layers, macro recording, RGB mode selection, and screen content management including GIF uploads. Mouse button inputs can be assigned to keyboard keys and macros. SOCD configuration is also available through the software, a feature not commonly found at this price point. Firmware updates and profile saves are also managed through the same interface.

Verdict
The Epomaker G84 Pro is a well-executed upgrade over its predecessor that delivers an exceptional sound profile, a genuinely useful customisable screen, smooth factory-lubed switches, and strong wireless performance in a compact layout. The plastic chassis and modest screen brightness are its most notable limitations, but neither significantly detracts from the overall experience.
For keyboard enthusiasts across the Middle East seeking a feature-packed wireless mechanical board with strong acoustics and a distinctive aesthetic at a budget price, the G84 Pro is a compelling option that outperforms most competitors in its category.
