ASUS Vivobook S14 M433 Review: The Perfect Budget Laptop

The ASUS VivoBook S14 M433 is an impressive budget laptop with solid build quality and great performance.

Temperature & Noise

Thermal performance is remarkable and during most of our benchmarks, the laptop remained relatively cool, thanks to the Ryzen 7 4700U series being an energy efficient mobile processor and the effective cooling system.

Upgradeability

For further storage capacity, the M433 offers an additional M.2 SSD slot depending on the region and variant.

Unfortunately, there are no expansion slots available for RAM but the built-in 8GB DDR4 RAM was plenty enough and never lagged once during our testing.

Battery & Audio

The M433 has a 50Whr 3-cell Li-ion battery. Based on the usage and screen brightness, the Vivobook S14 M433 lasts between six to eight hours.

Idle (one third brightness, no WiFI)12h 40 min
Web Browsing (one third brightness)8h 40 min
Video Playback (one third brightness)7h 20 min
Gaming (50% brightness)3h 45min

In terms of charging, it took 1 hour 45 minutes to charge back from 0% to 100%.

Audio is powered by built-in speakers certified Harman / Kardon. The sound quality is average but loud enough to fill small to medium-sized rooms.
