The best graphics card you can buy in 2019 for gaming at 1080p resolution - the most competitive segment of the GPU market.
The 1080p graphics card space is the most competitive segment of the GPU market.
4K and ultra-wide resolution monitors may dominate headlines, but most PC gamers play at 1080p resolution or below, according to the Steam Hardware Survey.
The Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 is the best budget choice for PC gaming on 1080p resolution. The GPU starts at AED 900, and overclocked and custom-cooled models will cost more.
It’s just ahead of AMD’s relatively new Radeon RX 590 in most scenarios. Equipped with 6 GB of GDDR5 onboard memory, it has no problem maintaining 60 fps in most modern AAA games even if you require some eye candy, with plenty of performance headroom left for even more demanding games to come in the future. It also runs much cooler and is more power-efficient than AMD’s rival Radeon options in this price range.
Now that Nvidia supports AMD’s FreeSync, you can combine the GTX 1660 with a FreeSync or G-Sync monitor for smooth, stutter-free sync gaming. Add it all up and the GeForce GTX 1660 is the best budget graphics card for gaming at 1080p right now.
If you want to keep costs down even further, the 8 GB AMD Radeon RX 580 is certainly an even better value for money. The RX 580 isn’t as fast as the GTX 1660, but it’s still capable of offering 60fps on High to max settings in most of today’s 1080p games. You also get a free three-month Xbox Game Pass subscription on your PC, giving you access to over one hundred games for absolutely nothing.

While the GeForce GTX 1660 is good enough for most people to play 1080p games, the GeForce GTX 1660 Ti is better suited for 1080p gaming on a high refresh rate monitor.
Consider stepping up to the GeForce GTX 1660 Ti if you have invested in a high-refresh rate monitor and want to put its 120Hz or 144Hz features to work as much as possible. It performs ahead of the GTX 1660 by a decent margin, and its memory is upgraded to 8GB of GDDR6 RAM for substantially more memory bandwidth.
Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti starts around AED 1,250 with custom models going for upwards of AED 1,400.
