The Honor Magic 5 Pro is a stunning device, available in two captivating colors: Meadow Green and Black. Crafted with a mix of metal and glass, the phone feels exceptionally premium in hand, albeit slightly slippery. Measuring 162.99 x 76.7 x 8.77 mm and weighing 219g, the Magic 5 Pro is a large phone, comparable in size to the latest Samsung S23 Ultra. But it is only 8.8mm thick and the weight distribution is well-balanced, with a slightly heavier top than the bottom, which we found to be comfortable to hold even with one hand.
The front of the device showcases a “quad-curved” display, housing a pill-shaped selfie camera cutout at the top left and the circular “eye of the muse” camera array at the rear. A 12MP selfie camera with 3D depth sensor ensures fast biometric face-unlocks. Conveniently placed on the right side are the volume up/down buttons and the power button for easy access.
The 6.67-inch OLED display, featuring a 120Hz LTPO refresh rate, provides a sharp, bright, and colorful visual experience. With LTPO technology, the screen intelligently adjusts its refresh rate, optimizing performance while conserving battery life. The display offers vibrant visuals with exceptional brightness that remains visible even under bright outdoor conditions. Even in low light, it delivers impressive results with effective noise control.
The second sensor, a 50MP Telephoto Camera with f/3.0 aperture and 3.5x optical zoom, captures abundant light, allowing for astounding 10X optical zoom capabilities and exceptional clarity.
The 50MP ultrawide-angle lens performs admirably, offering natural colors, though some distortion at the edges may be noticed.
The Magic 5 Pro’s camera system excels in various scenarios, from zoomed-in shots to low-light environments and macro photography. Images display vibrant colors, sharpness, and balance.
